I (Dan) grew up in semi-upstate New York, Columbia County, with a mailing address in East Chatham, on a piece of land we called "Willowbog", because of the grand old willow that stood over the swamp/pond behind the house.
At various times we had goats and sheep and chickens, two old barns to explore, enough construction materials left over from the rebuilding of the house that we had tree houses scattered around the area. It was a glorious place to grow up!
