Usual start is at the Post Office in Fairfax.
Google Maps directions for the ride from Fairfax to Point Reyes Station
There are several ways to get out of Fairfax, we'll pick one.
If you meet at the post-office, go west on Center Blvd through downtown Fairfax, and after downtown, just past the hardware store on the left, follow the "Bike Route" signs out to Sir Francis Drake.
Carefully take a left on Sir Francis Drake.
About 4 miles along Sir Francis Drake, up over White's Hill, you'll pass the golf course and see a "T". Take a right on Nicasio Valley Road.
3.8 miles, past Roy's Redwoods, up and over the hill, continue straight as Lucas Valley Road comes in from your right.
Another .6 miles and you hit Nicasio, with a sharp jog left then right.
Continue 3.3 miles along Sir Francis Drake, around Nicasio Reservoir, to a stop sign at T at Point Reyes-Petaluma Road. Go left.
3.1 miles, past the dam and down a hill (watch the descent, lots of detritus from the hillside on your right, and the road quality is awful), a 3 way stop sight. Go right.
3.2 miles later you T into Highway 1. Go left.
About half a mile later you'll hit downtown Point Reyes Station. Take a left, bike racks will be immediately on your right, Bovine Bakery in the block of buildings just past them. The morning bun is awesome. And on a clear summer weekend day you may see hundreds of cyclists.
Return the same way.
