For those of you who've been following the soap opera of my career decisions of late, I just sent email turning down the sharp turn in my job direction that I'd been offered. I spent some time on the phone with someone well versed in that industry and world, who's a few decades my senior, and we talked about roles and risks and trade-offs, and in the end I realized that it didn't mesh with my expectations and acceptable exposure of the next few years.
